Holly is a recognised scholar in end-of-life and palliative care, aging, resilience, wellbeing, spirituality, religion, and aging. A registered social work professional in the UK and the US, she has led social work inter-professional training jointly with physicians, nurses, and chaplain groups.
Her recent 2018 book based on a number of her research studies, Spirituality, Religion, and Aging: Illuminations for Therapeutic Practice helps multi-professional groups better understand and work with client spiritual, religious, and existential needs. Another aim was to assist professionals to develop their own understanding of the area through guided meditations and exercises to expand understanding.
Holly holds the rank of Professor and Division Lead in the Social Work Division, Department of Clinical Sciences at Brunel University London. Her visit has been made possible by The Ralph and Eve Seelye Charitable Trust Fund that funds The Seelye Visiting Fellowships.
